INGREDIENTS
- all purpose flour -2 cups(260g)
- warm milk -1 cup(240 ml)
- instant dry yeast -2 tsp
- sugar -2 tsp
- oil -2 tsp
- salt -1/4 tsp
- grated coconut -1/2 cup
- chopped cashewnuts -1/4 cup
- tutti fruity /english fruit and peel mix -1/4 cup
- cherries 12
- sugar -4 tbsp
- one egg, lightly beaten
- sesame seeds
Instruction
- In a wide bowl, mix together all purpose flour, yeast, sugar and salt until combined.
- Then add warm milk and oil, knead well until the dough is silky, smooth and elastic, add 2 to 3 tbsp flour, if needed.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover the bowl with a lid and place in a warm place for about 1&1/2 to 2 hours or until it has doubled in size.
- Meanwhile, in a separate bowl, mix together all the ingredients for filling until incorporated and keep it aside
- Spray 8 inch round pan and then line the bottom of the pan with parchment paper.
- After 2 hours, divide the dough into 2 portions, in the ratio 2;3
- Flatten them to 1/4 inch thick by using rolling pin and place the smaller flattened dough on the baking pan. (apply some flour while flattening)
- Then spread the filling and level it up.
- Cover this up with the larger flattened dough and press the edges and smoothen it up.
- Close the pan with a lid and keep it aside for 15 minutes to rise.
- Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 degrees C.
- Now beat an egg and brush over the dough and finally, sprinkle some sesame seeds over the dough.
- Then bake it in the preheated oven for about 30 to 40 mins or until browned.
- Remove from the oven and cool it completely before serving.
